Tap Repair Glasgow
A tap that will not shut. A drip that keeps you up. A mixer that only runs hot. I isolate it, find the washer, cartridge or olive that has gone, and fix it on the visit when the part is on the van. Kitchen, bathroom and outdoor taps.
Common signs
- A drip that will not stop, even with the handle hard off
- A tap that is seized, stiff, or spins without doing anything
- Water leaking at the base, the spout, or the joining olives
- A mixer that will not mix, or that scalds then runs cold
- An outdoor tap that drips, has seized, or needs fitting
What I check
- Isolation, so I can work without flooding the cupboard
- Washer, ceramic cartridge, or the seat it sits on
- Olives and tails under the sink, not just the handle on top
- Whether the tap is worth repairing, or cheaper to replace
- The supply once it is back on: no drip, no spray, a clean shut-off
Check my card
Every legitimate gas engineer carries a Gas Safe ID card. Ask to see mine at the door, or check my number before I arrive. If an engineer will not show you a card, do not let them near your gas.
Questions I get asked
Do you repair the tap or just fit a new one?
I tell you which before I start. A washer or cartridge is often enough. If the body is gone, I quote a replacement on the spot.
Kitchen, bathroom and outside taps?
Yes. Mixers, pillars, and outdoor taps on a house. A new outdoor tap is quoted in writing if it is more than a straightforward fit.
How does the £60 call-out work?
£60 covers diagnosis and up to the first hour of labour. Parts extra. Further labour £60/hour. Out of hours call-outs are £90.
Where I work
