Radiator Installation Glasgow
A new radiator, a radiator moved to a different wall, or a house that never balanced after the last DIY job. I drain down what I need, fit the work, refill, and leave the system heating evenly.
Common signs
- A room with no radiator, or one that never catches up
- A radiator you want moved for furniture or a renovation
- Leaking valves, rusted bottoms or a radiator that will not hold
- New radiators still in the box, waiting to go on the wall
- A system that needs balancing after radiators were added or swapped
What I check
- Pipe sizes, lockshields and whether the boiler can feed the extra load
- Wall fixings and the right radiator for the room
- Valves, tails and a clean drain-down
- Refill, vent and inhibitor
- Balancing, so the new radiator does not steal heat from the rest
- A leak check once the system is back up to temperature
Check my card
Every legitimate gas engineer carries a Gas Safe ID card. Ask to see mine at the door, or check my number before I arrive. If an engineer will not show you a card, do not let them near your gas.
Questions I get asked
Can you move a radiator to another wall?
Usually, if I can run pipework to the new position without wrecking the floor or the finish you care about. I look first and quote before I cut anything.
Do I need to buy the radiator myself?
You can. I can also source it. Either way, tell me the size and the BTU you were quoted, and I will say if it is right for the room.
Will the rest of the house stay on while you work?
I drain the minimum I need. Some jobs isolate a branch. Some need a full drain-down. I tell you which before I start.
