Boiler Repair Glasgow
No heat. No hot water. A fault code staring at you. I am Scott Reilly, a Gas Safe registered engineer in Glasgow. I diagnose the boiler, tell you the price before I start, and repair it if it is worth repairing.
Common signs
- No heating, or radiators that never get hot
- No hot water, or water that runs lukewarm
- A fault code or lockout on the display
- Pressure that will not hold
- Water leaking from the case or pipework
- Banging, kettling or a fan that will not stop
What I check
- The fault code, and what it actually means on your model
- System pressure and whether a leak is dropping it
- Ignition, flame, and whether the boiler is burning cleanly
- The flue, so fumes are going outside, not into the house
- Pumps, valves and sensors that stop a combi doing its job
- A tightness and safety test before I leave
Check my card
Every legitimate gas engineer carries a Gas Safe ID card. Ask to see mine at the door, or check my number before I arrive. If an engineer will not show you a card, do not let them near your gas.
Questions I get asked
Can you repair my boiler the same day?
Often, if the part is on the van or at a local merchant. If it needs ordering, I tell you that before I start, with the price in writing.
What if the boiler is not worth repairing?
I say so. I will not sell you a repair that buys you a month. You get a clear diagnosis either way.
How does the £60 call-out work?
£60 covers diagnosis and up to the first hour of labour. Parts extra. Further labour £60/hour. Out of hours call-outs are £90.
Where I work
Glasgow and the towns around it. If you are on the edge of the map, call anyway.
