Blocked Sinks Glasgow
The basin sits full. The kitchen sink drains like treacle. I take the trap off, find the blockage, and clear the waste pipes in the house.
Common signs
- A sink or basin that will not empty, or empties painfully slowly
- Water backing up into a second bowl or the overflow
- A trap that smells, or a gurgling waste
- Hair, grease or debris sitting in the U-bend
- A waste that runs then stops the minute you put the plug in
What I check
- The trap first. Most blocks live there.
- The waste run to the stack, if the trap is already clear
- Whether the blockage is in your pipework, or further down the system
- A flush after the clear, so it actually runs
- Whether the block is in the trap, the waste, or further along
Check my card
Every legitimate gas engineer carries a Gas Safe ID card. Ask to see mine at the door, or check my number before I arrive. If an engineer will not show you a card, do not let them near your gas.
Questions I get asked
What do you clear?
Sinks, basins and the waste pipes in the house. If it is further along, I will tell you on the visit.
Kitchen and bathroom?
Yes. Kitchen sinks, wash basins, and the traps and wastes that serve them.
How does the £60 call-out work?
£60 covers diagnosis and up to the first hour of labour. If I clear it in that time, that is the labour. Parts extra. Further labour £60/hour. Out of hours call-outs are £90.
Where I work
Glasgow and the towns around it. If you are on the edge of the map, call anyway.
