Bathroom Plumbing Glasgow
A dripping bath tap. A shower that hunts between hot and cold. A bathroom coming out and the pipework has to move. I do the plumbing: baths, showers, first fix while the walls are open, second fix when the sanitaryware goes in.
Common signs
- Bath taps that drip, seize, or will not mix
- A shower valve that hunts between hot and cold, or a waste that weeps
- A bathroom refit that needs the pipework moved
- First-fix hot, cold and waste while the room is stripped
- Second-fix: pan, basin, bath, taps and wastes going in
What I check
- Isolation, then the tap, valve or waste that has failed
- The new layout, and whether the existing supplies and waste will reach
- First fix before anything is buried, second fix when the suite goes in
- A hold test on every joint before the room gets finished around it
Check my card
Every legitimate gas engineer carries a Gas Safe ID card. Ask to see mine at the door, or check my number before I arrive. If an engineer will not show you a card, do not let them near your gas.
Questions I get asked
What does bathroom plumbing cover?
Baths, showers, pipework, and first-fix and second-fix when a bathroom is being refitted. Pan, basin, bath, taps and wastes.
Can you just fit the suite?
Yes, if first fix is already in and the room is ready. Pan, basin, bath, taps and wastes. Quoted in writing.
Electric showers?
I connect the water to the shower. The electrical supply is a separate job.
What does a bathroom refit cost?
Quoted in writing. A basin swap and a full first-fix and second-fix are different jobs, so there is no standard figure. A leaking bath tap on the visit follows the £60 call-out: first hour included, parts extra.
